Last week, an estimated 50,000 to 60,000 migrants, overwhelmingly young Muslim men, stormed the Spanish exclave of Ceuta from neighboring Morocco. The small territory, home to only 84,000 people, saw invaders numbering over half its population arrive almost instantly. As the Moroccans clashed with citizens in the streets, Spanish authorities were forced to deploy the military. The US State Department raised its own travel advisory to Level 3, warning of “unpredictable and dangerous security situations.”
Though many of the invaders have returned home since the attack, reports uncovered a frightening reality: Morocco’s government helped facilitate the attack. Morocco fomented the invasion due to a longstanding territorial dispute between them dating back to the days of the Spanish Reconquista. The migrant invasion reveals that belligerent powers are willing and able to use illegal immigration as a geopolitical weapon, inflicting damage to the victim nation’s population without firing a shot.
However, while the Moroccan government was certainly involved in the invasion, they were not solely responsible. Spain’s own far left, pro-open borders government has long sanctioned illegal immigration from Africa into Spain. They chose not to secure their border, and like a hawk, Morocco swooped in and took advantage of Spain’s weakness. The invasion of Spain truly began when Spain’s left-wing leaders took office.
America cannot allow itself to fall victim to the same tactics.
Our Southern border has already absorbed tens of millions under policies that treated enforcement as optional. The same forces that overwhelmed Ceuta exist along the Rio Grande. Mexico has had its eyes set on reconquering Texas since it won its independence from them. And they have no shortage of people who cannot wait to storm our border once a globalist anti-border regime takes power in America.
We are not powerless in the face of this darkness. There are many strong border champions on the ballot in November. Putting border security patriots in office secures the first line of defense against foreign invasions.
Illegal immigration has permanently transformed our communities, our labor markets, and our capacity to govern ourselves. Our nation’s strength has enabled us to absorb much of this damage without cause for alarm, yet the Ceuta invasion demonstrates that these changes can be sudden and overwhelming.
Mass migration on this scale does not benefit any nation. When a city can be overrun by tens of thousands of foreigners in a matter of moments, sovereignty becomes a fiction. Citizenship loses meaning. The distinct character of a nation is diluted beyond recognition. Ceuta shows us the end of the road if we refuse to act.

The events in Ceuta prove the point with brutal clarity. Nations that treat their frontiers as suggestions invite chaos and destruction. Nations that enforce them preserve the ability to decide their own future. What happened in Ceuta is not a distant European issue. It is a warning written in plain sight.
