Strong Borders Newsletter 3/14/25 – Foreign-Born Share of Population at an All-Time High

Unprecedented Number of Foreign-Born Individuals Living in America

According to the January 2025 Current Population Survey (CPS), the current immigrant population (legal and illegal together) has reached a record high of 53.3 million. This means foreign-born individuals comprise 15.8% of the U.S. population, breaking the records set in 1890 and 1910.

These numbers are unprecedented, and the impacts are not yet known. According to the Census Bureau, figures this high were not expected until 2042. And because of the numbers of illegal aliens who came in during the Biden administration, these numbers likely understate the number of foreign-born in the United States.

The majority of immigrants (3.8 million) are from Latin America, making up 58% of all new immigrants. India was second with 958,000, followed by the Middle East with 690,000 and China with 621,000.

Statistics show that a record high 15.7% of U.S.-born men ages 25 to 54 are unemployed or not seeking work in 2025, up from just 10.5% in 2000. Congressman Chip Roy said it best, “Immigration should be reduced!”

Members of DHS Revealed Information about ICE Raids, Jeopardizing Operations\

This week, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that DHS has identified two individuals within the department leaking information about upcoming ICE raids and potential targets. Noem further stated that these individuals will be referred to the DOJ, who will decide whether to proceed with prosecutions. If found guilty, the violators would face up to ten years in prison.

A recent ICE raid in Aurora, Colorado, was compromised, allowing members of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua to evade capture. Last month, the Los Angeles Times reported the upcoming plan for a large-scale operation in Southern California. Similar incidents, in which the media revealed sensitive information ahead of raids, have occurred in Virginia and Chicago.

In response to the breach of information, the DHS has begun administering polygraph tests to employees, questioning them about classified documents and sensitive law enforcement information.

Border Czar Tom Homan agreed with Secretary Noem that leakers are putting officers’ lives at risk and preventing DHS from achieving their desired deportation results. Noem has vowed that DHS will do everything it can to keep Americans safe.
