Strong Borders Newsletter 2/7/25 – Will Trump’s AG Crack Down on Sanctuary Cities?

On Wednesday, newly confirmed U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a directive for jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

The memorandum released by Bondi says that sanctuary cities and states that refuse to cooperate with or work to impede federal immigration enforcement operations will not receive any federal funding.

Additionally, Bondi has placed a 60-day pause on federal distributions to NGOs that provide support for illegal aliens on behalf of the federal government.

This is an overwhelmingly positive development and highlights a level of seriousness about immigration enforcement that has not been seen in any recent presidential administration.

Under the Biden administration, Congress authorized hundreds of millions of dollars to various NGOs for the purpose of “migrant resettlement” efforts that effectively allowed illegal aliens to use taxpayer dollars to be relocated to a city of their choice in our nation’s interior after being released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Earlier today, Steve Camarota of the Center for Immigrations Studies highlighted the new January 2025 household survey from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that indicated a shocking 88% of all employment growth since January 2020 has gone to foreign-born persons (legal and illegal).

During this time period, domestic-born employment is up just 645,000. Camarota goes on to say that according to the Center’s previous analysis, approximately 60% of the growth in foreign-born employment is accounted for by the surge in illegal immigration under the Biden administration.
