Mass migration, legal and illegal, has fundamentally transformed the texture of life in our state. For an example, look no further than this video recently taken at a Costco in Frisco, Texas:
This Weekend at Costco in Frisco, TX: The Indian takeover in full view. Hardly any Americans in sight.

The Indian population exploded 4,510% in Frisco over the last 20 years, surging from 2.5% to nearly one-third of the city.

There is a phenomenon taking place all over the world that everywhere could justifiably be mistaken for anywhere. When I visited Istanbul in 2017, I was struck by a newer development near Kalamis Marina on the Asian side of the city, where everything from the architecture to the fonts of the displays in the shops to the vehicles to the brands would not be out of place in any new development in Austin, Fort Worth, or Houston. The only clues to tell me where I was were the Turkish language filling the air and the minarets peeking over the cookie-cutter midrise apartment buildings. It could not be more of a contrast on the European side of the city, where Byzantine and Ottoman architecture dominate nearly everywhere you look in the older parts of the city.
Now, go back to the video from earlier in this article. If we were to remove the English text on the displays in the aisles of this Costco, would you have any clues that you were in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex or even in the United States?
I believe that there is something profound and beautiful about the distinctness of places, nations, and cultures. We are all, after all, created in the image of God and imbued with inherent dignity and worth, but we were not created without distinctions.
If mass migration is not curtailed, we run the risk of losing the unique character that makes Texas what it is, and the same goes for the United States as a whole. And in the process, we will let unscrupulous big businesses who put quarterly returns above all else reduce opportunities and the standard of living for our young families and their children and grandchildren.
One of the most egregious examples is the H-1B visa program, which we highlighted in our newsletter last week. H-1B visas are dangled in front of prospective foreign workers with the promise that if they endure several years of indentured servitude with lower pay than American workers and limited ability to petition for better working conditions, they may be able to stay in the United States permanently by way of an employer-sponsored Green Card.
But the true victims of this system are the American workers, in particular entry-level and mid-career young people who have worked for years to earn difficult degrees in STEM fields, various professional certifications, and requisite experience, only to find that the biggest firms in the U.S. aren’t interested in hiring Americans. According to an article in Fortune, nearly 60% of Generation Z college graduates are unable to find work.
Indeed, just this week one of the biggest stories on X was the launch of JOBS.NOW, which scrapes job listings intended to satisfy the Permanent Labor Certification (PERM) requirements to convert a temporary worker (such as an H-1B visa holder) into a permanent resident on track for a Green Card.
These postings are normally posted for a minimum of 30 days to satisfy federal requirements in low-circulation, often foreign-language newspapers in order to make it more difficult for Americans to find the job listings and apply, which would invalidate the companies’ claims that they could not find qualified domestic applicants. JOBS.NOW hopes that opening these jobs up to Americans will help curtail this system by which American workers are displaced by companies that seek to skirt the very laws designed to protect them.
At Texans for Strong Borders, we are fighting every day to secure our southern border, restore American sovereignty, and ensure that future generations of Americans are able to enjoy the same prosperity and freedoms that our forefathers fought to establish. We hope that you will join us in the fight and let our elected representatives know that they must honor their promises or see their careers cut short.
