A horrific video from this week was released showing a man walking across a Dallas motel parking lot carrying a severed head and a machete.
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Yordanis Cobos-Martinez — the Cuban national accused of brutally murdering Dallas motel manager Chandra Nagamallaiah — should not have been free in the United States. He was released in early January of this year from federal custody only because the Biden administration refuses to arrange deportation flights to Cuba.
The details are almost too gruesome to imagine.
According to the sworn affidavit, the incident began Wednesday morning after Nagamallaiah told Cobos-Martinez not to use a broken washing machine. Upset that the manager gave instructions through a translator rather than speaking to him directly, Cobos-Martinez retrieved a machete and launched a frenzied attack.
Surveillance video reportedly shows Cobos-Martinez stabbing and slashing Nagamallaiah repeatedly as the victim ran screaming toward the motel office. The affidavit says Cobos-Martinez did not stop until he had severed Nagamallaiah’s head from his body. Witnesses report he then kicked the head into the parking lot before placing it in a dumpster.
Cobos-Martinez fled but was quickly apprehended a block away. He later admitted to the killing during an interview with authorities.
This should never have happened. Cobos-Martinez has a long criminal history, including grand theft auto, false imprisonment, carjacking, and indecency with a child. ICE rightly placed a detainer on him, but because deportation flights of Cubans had been halted by the Biden administration, he was released under “supervision” and allowed back into our community.
The result: a hardworking man, loved by his family, is dead in the most horrific way imaginable.
This is not just a story of a violent individual. It is the direct consequence of failed border and immigration policies. When Washington refuses to deport dangerous criminals, Texans pay the price.
At Texans for Strong Borders, we are committed to making sure that evil like this is eradicated from our country. We simply cannot continue to live amongst people who are willing to commit these unspeakable acts of violence.
Whether it is the unprovoked attack on the woman riding the light rail in Charlotte, the assassination of American patriot Charlie Kirk, or the illegal alien beheading a man right here in Texas, our country must find a way to put an end to these evil, nihilistic acts.
We will continue demanding that Texas act where the federal government refuses, because Texans should not have to live in fear of violent criminal aliens roaming free in our neighborhoods.
