The Oversight Project, a Mass Deportation Coalition Partner, has filed a lawsuit against DHS for ignoring its Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests on deportation numbers. This lawsuit seeks to secure actual data and statistics for the public.
Oversight Project highlighted the need to do this as a way to preempt the amnesty lobby, which has been arguing that there are enough deportations and we should just let the rest of the illegal aliens stay here.
With debate raging throughout the country over immigration and mass deportations, there are concerted efforts to trick Republicans into supporting amnesty, such as the DIGNIDAD Act. Ultimately, President Trump promised mass deportations, and voters gave him an overwhelming mandate to fulfill that promise in the 2024 election.
The left tried to fight that mandate with mass violence, but establishment Republicans like Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) and Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL) have tried to undermine immigration enforcement with slick rhetoric and emotional appeals.
The solution to these efforts is transparency. It is disappointing that a conservative group is forced to file a lawsuit for what is usually publicly-available data, but this is a necessary step in the fight to undo the damage from the Biden border invasion.
With solid, verified deportation numbers, the public will be equipped to both evaluate the effectiveness of current deportation policy and rally the American people to oppose the open borders agenda. Providing data transparency on deportations isn’t just a checkbox for DHS to fill—it’s also a chance to regain voters’ trust and reinvigorate Republicans ahead of the critical midterm elections.
