In November, Texans delivered a historic mandate to secure our borders. And although much can be accomplished at the federal level, the 89th Texas Legislature can and must act to secure the Texas Border and put citizens first!
Here are our ten state Legislative Priorities for 2025:
- Create a State Department of Homeland Security with a Border Protection Unit to end the invasion at our border, repel illegal crossings, and combat the cartels
Priority Bills: HB 4914 by Hopper - Mandate E-Verify for all employers to deter illegal immigration and protect American jobs
Priority Bills: SB 324 by Kolkhorst, HB 1308 by Tepper, HB 1488 by Louderback - End all public subsidies for illegal aliens, including in-state tuition
Priority Bills: SB 1798 by Middleton/Schwertner (In-State Tuition), HB 160 by Leo-Wilson (In-State Tuition), HB 4745 by Olcott (All Public Benefits) - Mandate local law enforcement participation in the ICE 287(g) program
Priority Bills: SB 8 by Schwertner, HB 2361 by Spiller - Help finish the Trump Border Wall
Priority Bills: SB 316 by Creighton - Reform all state economic incentive programs, including the Texas Enterprise Fund, to
prevent government subsidies for replacing American workers
Priority Bills: HB 4935 by Tinderholt - Impose a state tax on remittances to Mexico and Latin America to disincentivize illegal
immigration and wealth transfer out of Texas
Priority Bills: HB 4180 by Luther - Restore the original intent of the 14th Amendment by ending birthright citizenship for the
children of illegal aliens and non-resident visa holders.
Priority Bills: HB 4771 by Olcott - Protect Texas land from hostile foreign ownership
Priority Bills: SB 17 by Kolkhorst, HB 17 by Hefner, HB 1743 by Little - Reform higher education to put Texas students first and prevent espionage
