Debunking the Left-Wing Narrative of a Sick Child Getting Deported

Left-wing media has created a narrative that sick American children were deported to Honduras. Secretary of State Marco Rubio debunked this false narrative.

The mainstream media painted a picture of a frightened mother who was unable to make necessary medical arrangements for her American-born son suffering from cancer before they were deported back to Honduras. The headlines claim that ICE deported a sick American citizen.

Secretary Rubio explained, “That’s a misleading headline.” He explained that the children’s mother was deported because she was an illegal alien who broke the law to enter the country years before her sick son was born. The mother was deported, and per the mother’s request, the children stayed with her.

Rubio said the children are welcome to return to the United States if their mother wants them to and if their father or someone else is willing to assume responsibility for them. The left-wing mainstream media conveniently left out the fact that the mother wished to have her children with her. ICE did not illegally deport an American citizen; they simply granted a mother’s request to keep her children with her.

Mainstream media also claimed that the sick child was deported to a country that could not provide him with the necessary medical care. ICE retorted that it always ensures that necessary resources are available for deported individuals who require them.

The mainstream media disparages immigration enforcement officers committed to upholding the law. Texans for Strong Borders applauds ICE’s commitment to deporting people who have broken our laws and entered our country illegally.
