State lawmakers in Massachusetts are pushing to revive a failed plan to create a “Muslim Commission” in the state government. Massachusetts Democrats want to amend and reintroduce bill S.2134, which would create a permanent, taxpayer-funded, and pro-Islam commission. The bill did not reach the floor in the last legislative session, but there is a redoubled effort among Democrat state lawmakers to pass it next session.
The commission would advise the state government, study “Islamophobia,” direct the state to oppose “Muslim hate”, and, most importantly, recommend “qualified” Muslims for appointment to government boards and appointed positions.
The left-wing DEI advocates behind the proposal framed it as “inclusion,” giving Muslims their due representation in government.
The Muslim Commission is not a push for representation. It is a brazen power seizure.
This commission would elevate one religion into the machinery of state power, the very kind of establishment the First Amendment forbids. Creating one exclusively for Islam while claiming it is merely advisory does not erase the preferential treatment or political advantage. Once a commission exists to funnel Muslims into important government positions and to shape policy around their community’s demands, the line between advice and hard power will quickly disappear. As Islamic power accumulates, their demands will grow stronger until the freedom to believe in any religion besides Islam is gone entirely.
This is not just happening in Massachusetts. Decades of high legal immigration from Muslim-majority countries, combined with illegal entries across our Southern Border that include significant numbers from the same regions, have expanded the demographic base into a political faction now demanding institutional power. Chain migration, weak immigration institutions, and decades of open border policies have brought large communities whose political and cultural priorities are explicitly anti-American. When those numbers reach critical mass in states like Massachusetts, activists and their political allies move to lock in formal power.
Texas has seen the same pattern in its earlier stages. Muslims have already tried to create an illegal university, and have also taken over a municipal utility district through secret meetings.
Defenders claim the commission “cannot pass laws” and is not “Sharia.” That is a distraction. Influence does not require the power to legislate on day one. It facilitates takeovers of real offices that can pass laws, while using the authority of the state to falsely brand opposition as “bigotry” or “Islamophobia”.
No one should endorse the delusion that monopolizing power in the hands of Muslims or any other non-American group will benefit our nation. Massachusetts’s “Muslim Commission” is both a warning of what is to come and a lesson on the consequences of insecure borders.

Texans must support policies to stop the Islamization of Texas, and that begins with cracking down on the legal immigration pathways that have flooded our major cities with these populations.
