Texas Democrats are working overtime to push a false narrative against federal immigration enforcement. On Sunday, Venezuelan illegal alien Wilber Rafael Garces Perez was shot during an immigration enforcement stop by ICE.
Garces Perez overstayed a work permit and had a final order of removal from an immigration judge when ICE agents stopped his vehicle, after a chase that went through neighborhoods. ICE agents stopped Garces Perez and spoke with him briefly before he tried to flee the scene. At that point, his vehicle collided with an ICE vehicle, and he was shot in the torso. Garces Perez’s deportation order was temporarily halted by a judge, and the incident remains under investigation.
This case appears similar to other ICE-involved shootings, where illegal aliens or left-wing protestors attempt to use their vehicles as weapons against the ICE agents, prompting use of lethal force. Consequently, open borders ideologues are seizing the opportunity to use the event to advance their agenda.
Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX) joined other Democrats in condemning ICE before all the facts were out, framing the incident as a “war” and calling for a total end to immigration enforcement. Meanwhile, Garces Perez’s immigration attorney, Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch, manufactured a false narrative around the incident. She claimed he was not an illegal alien and that he did not flee the scene. Video evidence clearly showed his car driving away, which Lincoln-Goldfinch tried to explain away as him “trying to park”.
The attorney, despite moralizing over the shooting of Garces Perez, ignited fury over her previous mockery of Charlie Kirk’s murder, where she posted “How do you resist getting shot in the neck? Does Charlie Kirk have any advice on that?”
Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch’s detestable hypocrisy is just a small part of the Left’s assault. Their goal is to use this, and other shootings, as justification to permanently open America’s borders. Their goal is not to stop violence related to immigration enforcement. It is to increase the violence until the American people capitulate to the open borders agenda.
That’s why left-wing voices aren’t calling for de-escalation or measures to prevent the tense situation which lead to shootings. The Left seeks to completely abolish ICE and every other immigration enforcement arm.
If Americans side with them, the result will be the total end of American national sovereignty. In a way, Rep. Greg Casar is right—this is a war, war waged by him and other progressives against the American people.
