Beaumont: TFSB President Chris Russo speaking at True Texas Project Legislative Re-cap
June 19, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The session is over! We may all breathe a sigh of relief. Freedom is in danger every time our legislators gather! Come hear what occurred during the 88th session… the good, the bad, and the ugly. We will host Samantha Farnsworth, of Texas Right to Life who can share some insight as to what went on in the peoples’ house regarding the pro-life movement. We are also hearing from Chris Russo, of Texans for Strong Borders. These are always our most popular meetings! Government should always be handled in layman’s terms. This is where that happens.

About Samantha Farnsworth:
Samantha was born and raised in San Diego, California. She moved to Texas to attend Trinity University in San Antonio, where she graduated in 2021 with a BS in Biology, focusing on cellular and molecular topics. While in college, she was heavily involved in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and Tigers for Life, the school’s Pro-Life club. Through the Young Conservatives of Texas chapter at Trinity, Samantha worked on several political campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels to get strong Pro-Life candidates elected to office, including Chip Roy and Ted Cruz. She now serves on the YCT State Board as the Chapter Mentorship Director. During the 87th regular legislative session, she worked as an intern in the office of Representative Matt Krause. Samantha currently lives in Austin, where she has worked as a member of the Legislative team at Texas Right to Life since June of 2021.
About Chris Russo:
Chris Russo is the founder and President of Texans for Strong Borders. TFSB exists to advance sane immigration policies in the best interests of citizens. We believe in stopping illegal immigration and a legal immigration system that serves the interests of Americans first. Chris founded TFSB in Spring 2022 after observing that although a host of special interest policy organizations were focused on a myriad of hot-button issues across the conservative spectrum, no group was organized and actively pushing for Texas First immigration policies at the state level.
TFSB’s focus for the upcoming elections in November will be to support candidates who are champions on border security and immigration policy in key races. Going forward into next legislative session in 2023, TFSB will push for 3 main policy proposals.
Before founding the PAC, Chris was an avid grassroots activist and participated in several campaigns around the state and served as the SD-11 GOP Resolutions Committee chair in 2020.
A Houston native, Chris grew up in Clear Lake before attending Texas A&M University, where he obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering and served as Speaker of the Student Senate. Before founding Texans for Strong Borders, he worked in Mission Control at NASA Johnson Space Center for over 6 years.
