Illegal Alien with California CDL Kills Three Americans in Trucking Accident

In a tragedy that underscores the deadly consequences of open borders and lax enforcement, an illegal alien truck driver from India, Harjinder Singh, killed three innocent Americans after making an illegal U-turn across a Florida highway.

Singh, who entered the country illegally in 2018, failed nearly every test of English proficiency and road sign recognition following the fatal crash—scoring just 2 out of 12 on a basic English test and identifying only 1 of 4 highway signs. Despite these obvious disqualifications, Singh was somehow issued Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs) in both California and Washington state.

The crash occurred when Singh attempted an illegal U-turn through a clearly marked “Official Use Only” highway cut-through, leaving a minivan with no time to stop. All three passengers were killed. Surveillance footage shows Singh unmoved in the aftermath, apparently indifferent to the devastation he had just caused.

How did a non-English-speaking illegal alien end up behind the wheel of a 40-ton vehicle? That’s the question Americans should be demanding answers to.

This is the natural result of radical immigration policies and non-enforcement at both the federal and state levels. Federal law requires CDL holders to read English and communicate with the public, yet Singh was granted licenses under jurisdictions that clearly failed to do their duty.

Even worse, Singh was nearly deported in 2018, but thanks to lenient Biden-era policies, was allowed to remain and later granted a work permit in 2021—a direct reversal of Trump-era enforcement.

Transportation Secretary Duffy has vowed to investigate and hold states accountable, saying:

Non-enforcement and radical immigration policies have turned the trucking industry into a lawless frontier.”

Texans for Strong Borders stands firm: We must end this lawlessness now.

Lax border control doesn’t just affect job markets; it puts lives at risk. We must restore the rule of law, secure our borders, and ensure only qualified, legal residents are entrusted with the responsibility of operating heavy vehicles on our roads.

Three lives were lost because our system failed. Let it be a wake-up call, not just a headline.
