Leftist Targets ICE Facility, Ends Up Shooting Detainees

Texans woke up this week to yet another stark reminder of what happens when the Radical Left demonizes the brave men and women tasked with defending our borders.

In Dallas, a gunman staged a sniper-style attack on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility, killing one detainee and critically injuring two others. Federal investigators say the shooter engaged in a “high degree of planning,” downloading maps of Homeland Security facilities, tracking ICE agent movements, and leaving behind notes explicitly stating his intent: to terrorize ICE personnel and maximize casualties.

Among the shooter’s writings were chilling lines: “Hopefully this will give ICE agents real terror, to think, ‘is there a sniper about to fire from a roof?’” and “I intended to maximize lethality against ICE personnel.” This was not random violence. It was a deliberate, cold-blooded attempt to assassinate American law enforcement officers.

Make no mistake: this attack was fueled by years of poisonous rhetoric from the Left. Politicians, activists, and even mainstream media have spent years smearing ICE officers as “Nazis,” calling for the agency’s abolition, and vilifying those who enforce immigration law. That demonization has consequences. The shooter’s hate-filled notes show he bought into exactly that propaganda.

President Trump rightly called this what it is: the natural outcome of the Radical Left’s war on law enforcement. The Left cheers open borders, attacks our sovereignty, and treats ICE officers like enemies rather than heroes. Now, we see the real-world cost.

Texans for Strong Borders stands firmly with ICE agents. This act of terrorism must not only be condemned, but it must also strengthen our resolve to finish the job of securing our borders and defending those on the front lines.

The fight is not only against cartels, illegal aliens, and weak politicians in Austin and Washington. It’s also against the dangerous lies that fuel violence against those sworn to protect us.
