On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate confirmed Rodney Scott as the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The vote was split on party lines, with every Senate Republican voting in favor of his appointment.
Scott began his career as a border patrol agent in 1992 and was promoted to chief of the U.S. Border Patrol. Notably, he was forced to resign as Border Patrol Chief by President Biden after speaking out against the Biden administration’s open border policies. He then served as a Distinguished Senior Fellow for Border Security at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. President Trump nominated him for CBP Commissioner on Inauguration Day, and he has been acting in that role since.
He brings experience, proven leadership, and a commitment to securing our border and restoring national sovereignty. Scott started out working on the front lines of border security and is working with CBP to put America first.
Texans for Strong Borders looks forward to working with Commissioner Scott to protect Texans, enhance economic prosperity, and uphold the rule of law.
