Trump Delivers State of the Union Speech

President Trump on Tuesday night delivered a fiery and emotional State of the Union address, in which he repeatedly hammered the need for policies that Texans for Strong Borders stands for. He called out the Somali fraud fiasco in Minnesota, at one point getting into a shouting match with Ilhan Omar as she disrupted the speech with her own screams.

Trump called for Congress to pass two major border security bills: “Dalilah’s Law,” which would ban any state from issuing commercial driver licenses to illegal aliens, and the SAVE Act. The Dalilah Law was named after Dalilah Coleman, a young girl who was severely injured after being hit by a semi truck driven by an illegal alien. The SAVE Act has been a top priority of Strong Borders, as it would enact nationwide voter ID and ensure that only citizens can vote.

On top of those legislative pieces, the President brought in real-life victims of illegal immigration to demonstrate the callous disregard for American lives that open borders advocates hold. This included the family of Lizbeth Medina, a high school cheerleader who was brutally murdered by an illegal alien while taking a bath inside her own home.

While presented with innocent victims directly killed by the results of insane immigration policies, the Democrats refused to stand and honor them. In fact, Trump called on everyone present to stand if they supported the statement, “The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”

The Democrats sat, furious at the idea that politicians should work for the good of the people they represent, rather than foreign interests lining Democrats’ pockets. Texans for Strong Borders, however, firmly believes in that statement and is wholly dedicated to fighting to make it a reality.

We urge the Trump administration to take the necessary steps to increase deportations from the interior to over 1 million per year, finish the border wall, and protect American workers.
