Using the TX Military to Repel the Invasion

“We’re the only nation in the world that does not use the military to secure our border.” – Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter

Did you know Texas has its own military department and that it’s controlled by the governor? We do, it’s made up of three branches, falls under the Texas Military Forces (TXMF), and answers to the Governor.

The Texas Military Department is composed of the three branches of the military in the state of Texas. These branches are the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, and the Texas State Guard. All three branches are administered by the state Adjutant General, an appointee of the Governor of Texas, and fall under the command of the Governor.”

Texans for Strong Borders has called for the deployment of these forces to our southern border to stop illegal crossings before they happen. Unfortunately, Governor Greg Abbott hasn’t taken that approach.

Instead, Abbott has blamed the Biden Administration, and bussed illegal immigrants to New York. All the while, we’re being invaded and narcoterrorist drug cartels are reaping a windfall.

Abbott has the authority to send our troops to the border and shut it down. We do not need to rely on the federal government to secure OUR border with Mexico. There is a precedent of officials calling for this action since 2021.

In October of last year, “Texas Gov. Greg Abbott asked the Biden–Harris administration to secure the open border with Mexico. On that same day, Kinney County Judge Tully Shahan (R) asked the governor to use his authority to stop illegal border crossings in a declaration of disaster. Shahan asked Abbott to “immediately deploy 2,000 state military personnel” and “state military air assets” to the county to “repel an invasion and protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Texas.”

While many are calling for Governor Abbott to take action and secure the border himself, he continues to blame the Biden administration.

Texans do not have to tolerate the lawlessness on our border or the Open Borders activism of Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. We are not consigned to standing by and doing nothing while illegal aliens invade the Texas Border and threaten the liberty and security of our state. Abbott has the authority to defend our border and that right is reflected in Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, which states:

“No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.”

Texas needs to ignore the radical open border policy of the Biden Administration and to secure the state ourselves. The problem at the border is only getting worse. Over 200,000 illegal aliens were encountered by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol in June, bringing this fiscal year’s total to over two million

We are reaching a boiling point at the border. Using the Texas Military in addition to other state resources, we can stop foreign nationals from invading our country. In May 2022 alone, 232,628 illegal aliens crossed the border. This is the highest monthly total in 23 years.

Gov. Abbott should use the Texas Military to secure the border until we can regain control of our state.
