Last night, Texas Republicans delivered a powerful message in the primary runoffs: the Lone Star State demands leaders who will fiercely prioritize border security, strictly enforce our immigration laws, and protect Texas families from the chaos of unchecked illegal immigration.
With Attorney General Ken Paxton’s decisive victory over incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the U.S. Senate race, voters firmly rejected Washington establishment weakness in favor of proven fighters on the border. Paxton secured the nomination with a landslide majority of 64% of the vote, emerging as a strong voice for real action against open borders and amnesty.
We’re proud of several other key victories by our endorsed candidates. Thomas Smith won his runoff for Place 3 on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, ensuring strong jurists committed to the rule of law and tough measures against criminal illegal aliens. Stan Stanart and John Bonck also secured wins, adding Conservative voices dedicated to election integrity and public safety.
Bo French prevailed for Railroad Commissioner as an outspoken conservative who understands that America is incompatible with Sharia Law and that we cannot allow immigration policies that undermine American workers. Bo, who has called for deporting 100 million people, proved that border security wins at the ballot box, even when the office sought doesn’t oversee immigration policies.
Two additional races were decided before Election Day when the opponents of Jace Yarborough and Brandon Herrera dropped out, clearing the path for these patriots to advance unopposed in the runoff. Yarborough in North Texas and Herrera in South Texas showcased the growing grassroots energy behind candidates who refuse to compromise on sovereignty and border enforcement.
The candidates who won last night strongly align with Texans for Strong Borders’ core mission: securing the border, ending catch-and-release, holding sanctuary jurisdictions accountable, removing criminal illegal aliens, and ensuring Texas resources protect American citizens first. These results advance our priorities of restoring law and order while building a safer, stronger Texas.
These victories give us critical momentum heading into November, but the fight is far from over. Our strong borders champions now will face the Democrats in the general election this November.
Texans for Strong Borders has been active throughout this primary cycle, and we need your help to carry this message forward. Can you pitch in today to help us mobilize citizens and keep the pressure on for a safer, stronger Texas?
